On January 1, 1976, the film was released "Irony of Fate or Enjoy Your Bath!" … Since then, skeptics have never ceased to argue about how believable the plot of the picture is. And the first question they ask, invariably remains the same: could Zhenya Lukashin fly on someone else's ticket to another city, and why was such a drunk passenger even allowed on the plane? The answer to this question was given by people who are not related to cinema. “Lord, how boring we live! The spirit of adventurism has disappeared in us,”- those who repeated Zhenya Lukashin’s“feat”in real life might say after Ippolit.
Ryazanov's accusations of deviating from the truth of life in the film are unfair because the story of the passenger sent in the wrong direction was not fictional. True, the man who sorted out did not travel by plane, but by train. The director wrote in his memoirs: “We were told a story about a man who, after a bath, ran to see his friends. And there was a party. Washed, clean N. began to have fun and soon, as they say, "passed out." In the company there was a joker B. He persuaded the roaming friends to take N. who had come from the bathhouse to the station, buy a train ticket, load the sleeping man into a carriage and send him to Leningrad. And so they did. The unfortunate N., who did not understand anything, woke up on the top shelf of a train that had arrived in the city on the Neva, went out to the station square and found that, except for a briefcase with a broom and fifteen kopecks, he had nothing with him. Ryazanov does not name names, but they say that the joker was the composer N. Bogoslovsky, known for his practical jokes.
In June 2016, a 22-year-old guy, who celebrated his flight home well with friends, flew from Moscow instead of his native Yakutsk to Krasnodar. At the same time, the passenger went through all the inspection and control procedures and showed a boarding pass to his hometown before the flight. Just got on the wrong plane - mixed up the gates. How he was let on board by the representatives of the air carrier - history is silent. The guy slept through the entire flight and woke up only after landing, when the pilot announced the air temperature: "+25 degrees". And then a drunk resident of Yakutsk suspected something was wrong … He bought a ticket home with his last money, and while the question of his return was being decided, a new acquaintance from Krasnodar took him in.
And one could blame everything on the peculiarities of the national mentality, but abroad there are enough of their own Lukashins. Briton Alex Caviel, together with a friend, had a revelry in a nearby town. And I woke up in Barcelona. The guy did not remember how he left the pub, says that, having gone home, he suddenly thought that it would be nice to fly somewhere. “I had a very realistic dream that I was on board the plane, but I did not attach much importance to it and just continued to sleep,” says the reveler. But the dream came true, and once at the Barcelona airport, the Briton decided to continue his spontaneous trip to Spain.
In Germany, a tipsy 27-year-old man was struck by irony in a taxi. The driver heard that instead of "nach Hause" - "home", he said "nach Hauset" - "to Hauset." And he took him to a Belgian village with that name, located 3 km from the border and 10 km from his hometown of Aachen. The man realized that he had gone somewhere wrong, only when he woke up in another country. The driver agreed to take him back to the address indicated more clearly. The trip cost him 70 euros.
But the resident of China did not manage to repeat Lukashin's "feat": not calculating the dose of alcohol, he fell asleep in the cargo container of the ship, which was to sail to the United States. Fortunately, he was found on time, and he woke up at home.
The least fortunate resident of Poland: 56-year-old Marek Michalski got drunk until he was unconscious and fell asleep on the bench. Passers-by called an ambulance, the arrived doctors did not find any signs of life in the man and took him to the morgue. The man woke up on the table with a pathologist, who, fortunately, did not have time to perform an autopsy.
