Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco was the world's first cocaine billionaire. Her cruelty was legendary, she was reputed to be one of the most dangerous figures in the drug business. Griselda Blanco has been called the godmother of cocaine and the most ruthless drug lord of all time. On her account there were about 200 murders, but law enforcement agencies managed to prove only her involvement in smuggling and drug trafficking.
Griselda Blanco was born in Colombia, in Cartagena in 1943, from childhood she showed criminal inclinations: at the age of 11 she participated in the abduction of a child for ransom, and then killed him, at the age of 14 she ran away from home. Until the age of 20 she earned by prostitution, and then got married and gave birth to three sons. However, the role of a respectable mother of the family and housewife did not suit her. With her second husband, she emigrated to the United States and became involved in the drug trade.
Her drug activity began with 7 kg of cocaine, which she smuggled in her underwear from Colombia to the United States. The money she earned - and it was a considerable amount - did not seem to her enough. Her goals were much more ambitious: she decided to conquer Bohemia and make cocaine an elite drug. Soon, nightlife in Miami began selling a new expensive drug that quickly became fashionable. In the late 1970s. Blanco was involved in the "Cocaine Cowboy Wars" in Miami, with the result that cocaine nearly forced marijuana out of the black market. A real cocaine epidemic has begun in the United States.
Even then, Griselda had a reputation as a cruel drug lord, who eliminated everyone who interfered with her on her way. In 1984, several assassination attempts were made on her, and she was forced to move to California, where she was arrested a year later. She received 20 years in prison for smuggling, however, she continued to engage in drug trafficking in prison. In 2004, Griselda Blanco was released and was deported to Colombia, where she continued her work. She was not stopped by the deaths of two of her husbands and three of her four sons in shootings, nor by numerous threats against her.
Griselda Blanco has developed many drug trafficking routes, selling cocaine in bulk and retail. She even opened a lingerie store that sold kits with special secret pockets for carrying drugs. She was considered the first Colombian drug lord to smuggle drugs into the United States.
The same death awaited her, to which she had doomed many in her life. On September 3, 2012, two motorcyclists point-blank shot a 69-year-old drug lord as she walked out of a butcher's shop into the street. This method of murder - killers on motorcycles in a public place - was practiced in the gang of Blanco herself. Two bullets hit her in the head, and the godmother of the cocaine died instantly. The police were only surprised why this had not happened before - she had many enemies. Griselda Blanco went down in history as one of the bloodthirsty criminals of the century and one of the most successful drug dealers in the world.
