Footprints in the sand are short-lived, they exist until they are destroyed by a gust of wind or are erased by coastal waves. However, the artist Ahmad Nadalian) this does not frighten: he gladly decorates deserted beaches with natural ornaments. Peculiar bas-reliefs become part of the natural landscape, and viewers have a wonderful opportunity to explore, touch or even destroy harmonious images if they wish.
Ahmad Nadalian calls his works "Sand Prints", that is, "Prints in the sand." The technology is very simple: it uses special cylinders to create a repeating pattern. The artist is inspired by the most ancient rituals, he draws traditional natural symbols on the sand. Fish, snakes, crabs, flower patterns … Long rows of monotonous illustrations stretch along the coastline, forming a single space.
Such a stencil principle of drawing an image on the sand is not new, on the site Kulturologiya. Ru we have already told our readers about the original art tractor, an invention of the artist Gunilla Klinberg, which makes it possible to turn a huge beach into a painted canvas in a couple of hours. Ahmad Nadalian is far from using technology, he remains an adherent of manual labor, because he takes this unusual occupation with particular seriousness. The artist is sure that in this way he makes a kind of sacrifice to the earth, hoping in this way to heal the spirit of Nature. In the transience of the process, he sees a special meaning that endows these ornaments with magical properties. Ahmad Nadalian states: "Art blesses me and gives hope for harmony with the past, with the earth and with the sky."
