Why do people paint where no one will see their work?

When I was in school, all my notebooks of 48 and 96 sheets were not so much lesson notes as pages of comics and cartoons, of course, quite ridiculous in execution. At the university, this habit did not leave me - I drew the headlines of lectures in Slavic script or Scandinavian runes, I could depict the date of the seminar in the form of a landscape, and a still life with a pot of flowers on the windowsill or just a door to the auditorium could appear among the notes.

Why exactly a notebook with notes, a torn notebook, a personal diary become the place for the author's "masterpieces"? Which, by the way, you won't be able to show it in any way, you can't attach a scanned piece of a piece of paper in a box to your portfolio. What do you think it is: a bad habit or an element of psychology that allows you to truly turn on the "unconscious" where it is not caused by force? After all, a personal notebook is a personal world where you open up only for yourself and are 100% honest. But sometimes people can't stand it and still let someone into their picturesque nook.
