They lived together for almost 45 years, during which they were practically inseparable. Yadviga Poplavskaya and Alexander Tikhanovich have always been associated with the Verasy ensemble, even when the performers were forced to leave the group. They have traveled a difficult path, but at the same time they have always remained an example of an ideal family for many people. Alexander Tikhanovich died four years ago, and Yadviga Poplavskaya admits: she still has not resigned herself to loss, and time does not have healing power at all.

Music of love

Their love story began at the very moment when, in 1973, Alexander Tikhanovich became a member of the Verasy group. He was in love with her even before he met in person, and after a long time he did not dare to confess his feelings. And yet she said the cherished "yes" and became his wife.

Alexander Tikhanovich always called his wife his lucky break and his guardian angel who saved, healed, helped to rise and move on in the most difficult times. According to the performer, if not for Yadya and his daughter Anastasia, he would literally have died in those days when he suffered from alcohol addiction and used illegal substances.

This was at a time when the couple were forced to leave Veras because of the outbreak of a scandal: Alexander Tikhanovich was accused of drug trafficking. Then Yadviga Poplavskaya defended the good name of her husband to the end, not for a second believing the absurd speculations. Then they were able to rise again, organized their own production center, toured the country, wrote music and poetry. And again they conquered the musical Olympus. Love and music were the key to their happiness.

But in 2010, doctors discovered that Alexander Tikhanovich had lung cancer, and the forecasts were extremely disappointing, too late the performer asked for help. He fought for seven years, carefully hiding his condition from the public. He went on stage with his wife, barely standing on his feet, at the limit of his strength and capabilities. Subsequently, Jadviga Poplavskaya will call the concerts, which took place with the participation of her husband at that time, terrible. After all, the spouses could not refuse them due to the fact that all the money was spent on medicines for Alexander Tikhanovich.

On January 13, 2017, he went on stage for the last time, and the very next day he was in the hospital. He almost did not breathe, his lungs refused to work, and he smiled at his wife and daughter through an oxygen mask and thanked God for everything. Two weeks later, Alexander Tikhanovich was gone.

Life in spite of

Yadviga Poplavskaya still wears her wedding ring on her right hand. For her, Alexander Tikhanovich is not dead, she constantly feels his presence nearby. She did not accept the loss, it seems to her that he left somewhere or is in the next room, writing poetry, praying or just sleeping while she works. Most of the time Yadviga Poplavskaya spends in their studio, where everything reminds of her beloved husband.

A year after the death of her husband, Yadviga Konstantinovna had to endure another loss: her mother, Stefania Petrovna, passed away. Just ten days later, Jadwiga Poplavskaya was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in Minsk, as a result of which her leg was broken.

But even then, the singer did not give up, but continued to work. Family, friends and music came to the rescue again. And love for Alexander Tikhanovich, which continues to warm her heart and soul. She often dreams of him, and sometimes the pain of loss becomes so unbearable that Yadviga Konstantinovna, by her own admission, just wants to howl with melancholy. There was even a moment when she herself wanted to run to her husband's grave and "bury herself next to Sasha." But she again convinced herself that there was simply a traditional monument, her husband was not in the cemetery. He is next to her.

Yadviga Poplavskaya continues to work actively today, she writes music and poetry, makes arrangements, gives concerts, and is engaged in the activities of a production center. And he also gladly devotes time to communicating with loved ones, daughter and grandson. With her daughter Yadviga Poplavskaya often goes on stage. According to her, it is very easy for her to work with Anastasia, she subtly feels music and words.

Anastasia Tikhanovich, like her parents, linked her life with music, she is known in Belarus as an author and performer. And in memory of her dad, who could give the last to those in need, Anastasia is engaged in charity work, helping patients of neuropsychiatric dispensaries. And he tries to communicate with mom more often.

Jadwiga Poplavskaya is already 72 years old, but she does not even think about retirement. She is in excellent physical shape and does not seem to change at all over the years. The performer and composer considers this a merit of her parents, who passed on good genes to her. And active creative activity and constant employment do not allow her to relax.

In 2018, Yadviga Konstantinovna became the winner of the Republican competition "Woman of the Year 2018" in the nomination "Spirituality and Culture", which was the most unexpected and pleasant event for her.

Yadviga Konstantinovna Poplavskaya works tirelessly on new songs, continues to delight fans with her performances, and before the pandemic she took part as a jury member in many prestigious festivals and competitions. Her life does not stand still, it continues, as the story of her endless love continues in music.

They have always been surprisingly harmonious both on stage and in life, despite the diametrical opposition of characters. They were together when only a narrow circle of fans knew about the Verasa ensemble, they did not part at the zenith of fame and became support for each other at a time when they had to leave their favorite band because of the drug scandal. Alexander Tikhanovich and Yadviga Poplavskaya lived together a whole life to the incessant melody of happiness.
