The possible existence of the Loch Ness Monster is a world famous mystery in Scotland. The chance to see Nessie attracts thousands of sensation-hungry tourists to the region every year. Over the past year, the mythical monster has only been noticed a couple of times. Apparently, Nessie did a good job of social isolation. In late November, Aberdeen resident Karen Scott was enjoying the serene landscape at Arkart Castle. Suddenly, at a cursory glance at the surface of the water, an extraordinary sight opened up to her …
Sudden phenomenon
The figure, which Karen's husband described as a huge seal, was clearly visible from where the couple was. According to the Loch Ness Official Observation Register, the object "surfaced, disappeared, and then reappeared within five minutes."
Fortunately, Scott had a camera close at hand and captured a mysterious creature heading towards the shore. He was afraid to frighten off the animal and could not take the most successful picture. But whatever the quality of the image, it is now part of the historical chronicles of Nessie.
“He didn’t dive under the water, he slowly went under it,” said Scott. “Although he looked like a seal, he didn't swim like a seal, bouncing around,” adds Karen. She also expressed doubts that this observation is actually a monster. The same one that caused such a powerful stir and a lot of speculation in the world press in 1933.
Nessie's story
It is believed that the first mention of the Loch Ness monster dates back to the 1870s. Some historians claim that there are similar messages in texts dating back to 565 AD!
Of course, doubts about the reliability of such reports are quite legitimate. However, it was Loch Ness Bailiff, Alex Campbell, who published the original reportage on this in the 1930s. It was this message that caused massive interest in the "monster" and a surge in tourist activity in the region.
The story concerned another couple, Aldi and John McKay, who spotted an unknown large, suspicious creature on the road. In the same year, Hugh Gray took a photograph of him. However, the most famous image is probably that of the surgeon Robert Wilson. He was the man who took a very impressive photograph in 1934.
The picture is simply magical, it shows a fairly large part of the body of the mythical creature. Of course, for a lot of people, this is just a fake. It is said that in fact a certain Marmaduke Veterell was behind Wilson's actions. This is a swindler who previously tried to deceive the press with fake pictures of hippos. Experts say that in attempt # 2, the deceivers used a toy submarine.
There are experts who argue that the existence of such an animal is not such a fantasy. They say it could be anything from an ancient plesiosaur to a giant catfish. There are records and observations that are considered quite natural. In popular culture, the creature was portrayed by filmmakers as anything from an alien-controlled cyborg (Doctor Who: The Zygon Horror) to a chilling threat to humanity in the 1981 film The Loch Ness Horror.
Has the pandemic given Nessie a break?
This creature is arguably the best social distancer. The Loch Ness Monster excites the public's imagination even more than ever. The Observation Register, run by Gary Campbell, contains 13 cases of Nessie appearing in 2020. This is despite the fact that the castle is closed to tourists during the pandemic.
Earlier, a certain Louise Power said that when she and her mother were on the Great Glen road, they suddenly noticed something cutting through the water surface. The women say the creature was quite large, whitish-gray in color. Besides the fact that the animal was enormous, Louise could no longer say anything. Among other things, a special Register webcam is installed near the lake. The Internet allows virtual visitors to watch the lake while awaiting Nessie's arrival at their leisure.
Amazing world of nature
The task of local authorities is to direct people's interest in the right direction. Tourists often mistook animals such as seals and eels for Nessie. It also happened with objects such as logs. Given the history of the lake, all of this can easily cause confusion and false alarm. The Register mentions how a swimming deer was mistaken for the Loch Ness monster.
The unique natural world also generates potential micro-scale horrors. After all, insects can be zoomed in on the camera so that when examining them, you can inspire more than one monster hunter!
Recently, a documentary was released that chronicles Professor Neil Gemmell's attempt to locate Nessie through extensive DNA analysis of the lake's waters. He found evidence of eel DNA. The information is quite consistent with the fact that some people spoke of the monster as a giant eel. In addition, no more convincing scientific studies were carried out. Until Nessie herself decides to jump out to the surface and say hello, the question of her existence will remain open.

First-borns, as a rule, are smarter and more talented than the next children in the family, scientists say. And the fifth? Seventh? Seventeenth? Here are the people without whom the history of mankind would have been different, all of them are far from being the first to be born to their parents, who still managed to raise geniuses
