Artist creates adorable cardboard templates for selfies against the backdrop of sunsets

John Marshall - a writer and director who is always in a creative search. He works at the computer for long hours and finds it extremely tedious. Once Marshall got tired of it, he took a large piece of cardboard, drew a drawing, cut it out with scissors and took a selfie with it against the backdrop of the setting sun. John lives and works in the USA. As he himself admits, he loves to do something with his own hands. Marshall calls his work "Selfie at Sunset."

John perceives his unusual photographs against the background of the sunset only as a pleasant hobby. He began creating his first templates more than five years ago.

The artist recalls that he was then on an island in Maine. I sat on the shore and admired the beautiful sunset. Suddenly he caught sight of a beer package thrown by someone. There was nothing to do, as they say, and John had the idea to cut an alligator mask out of this package. Then he took a selfie with this template against the backdrop of the setting sun.

The result impressed him so much that since then Marshall has taken more than two hundred selfies with a variety of silhouettes. John says that doing this kind of thing builds up a relationship with his inner child.

The sun sets for about half an hour. Marshall usually has a fairly small margin of time for photography. He manages to take from five to ten pictures.

After all, you need to choose the most successful of them, and not all of them will be. Sometimes you have to take more photos. It depends on the shape of the template, the selected angle and other various nuances.

John is convinced that the best place for photographs against the background of a sunset is any body of water. There is nothing more beautiful than the rays of the setting sun and clouds reflected by the brilliant water surface.

Such pictures look much more impressive than the rest. The artist expresses the hope that his works make people at least a little more joyful and happier.

The artist carved out the template of a giant robot and said that there is nothing like a strong friend to lean on at the right time. Someone who will just stand and listen. Like this giant robot.
