Finding pictures on the Internet, fashion magazines, taking original images from films, Ricardo Fumanal uses his imagination to simplify them somewhat, presenting them in black and white interpretation. Slightly modified illustrations merge with the surreal image, acquiring new meaning.
Ricardo Fumanal studied graphic and advertising design, as well as printing techniques and the art of illustration. He draws inspiration from the world of fashion and cinema, and borrowing some themes and ready-made images, he redraws them, impregnating with his own style. The Spanish artist collaborates with many studios and art directors, creating illustrations in various formats for fashion magazines and newspapers such as Yo Dona, German Glamor, El País, Marie Claire, Hercules and Vanidad. His clients include the Barcelona City Council, as well as the fashion brands Pull & Bear and Mango.
Talking about plans for the future, Ricardo Fumanal mentions that he is preparing a series of illustrations for the new Lou Dalton 2010 collection.
