September 11 is one of those days when all of America comes together and each person for their own reasons. In addition to the Memorial Day, on this day, numerous contests are organized, bright and sincere, reminding people that there is still too much beauty in this world and you need to be able to see it. New York photography competition "Tribute in Light" brought many wonderful impressions to its organizers, participants and just outside observers. Some of the photos have been rated by computer sites and here are a few of them:
The first photo shows the winner of the competition. The author of the photo, and he told the story of the creation of this work. "Due to my many personal health problems and simple bad luck, I often missed "Tribute in Light" … This year I decided to participate by all means. And so, after a good dose of painkillers and with the help of my husband, I went to Jersey to take this picture. There were many people, they all took pictures and they all remembered. This HDR image was taken in RAW with a Canon 50D camera and a Sigma 10-20mm lens. f / 10, ISO 100, 18mm, 15s-8s-30s. Next year, these light installations will be shown for the last time."
Photo titled "Divine Light", work of authorship. “This is a confessional in the Vatican in Rome, and the entire section shown in the photo was cordoned off so that I could take a good shot without the tourists getting in the way. I used a Canon PowerShot SX200 IS without flash and ISO 400. Subsequently, the photo was only cropped and resized a bit.."
Photo "Laser Light" from. “I think this is a very loose interpretation of the meaning of the phrase 'beam of light', but for my photo I decided to use a 5mm laser. With the help of a black backdrop and a smoke machine, I cut through the smoke screen with the laser trying to create a wall of light. never original, the laser floating gently at the base creates a sense of depth while the smoke creates the appearance of oil streaks on the water. Canon T2i with 18-55mm Kit Lens. Photo taken at f / 5.4 seconds, ISO400."
Photo "Key Light" from. "Knock down the doors! These doorknobs with locks were bought about five years ago and I still have not figured out where to fit them! To create a photo, I attached this handle to black foam, cut a hole in it and illuminated the keyhole with a halogen flashlight. a gold reflector aimed at the pen itself and I borrowed an iron from my wife to create a “haze.” I didn't mess around with the shoot for long as all my black foam was melting from the iron steam! Nikon D80 f2.8 3 seconds 50mm lens."
Photo "Barn Light", came straight from the hands and the camera. "This picture was taken in one of the barns on my farm. It is a barn of some unusual size, very old, I would say. It is, I would even say, a barn with character. I always liked watching the sun through the cracks of the barn roof, after many years of unfavorable weather. After much deliberation, I decided to throw some straw and dust into the sunny space so that it floats smoothly in the air. You can still see the straw in the rays of the sun, I think this gives the photo a wonderful effect I'm very happy with my work. Not very happy with the air quality in the photo … Pentax Kx with 18-55mm kit lens, 100 iso, f / 6.3, 5 seconds."

Boxers before and after the fight. Photo project by Nicolai Howalt
All professions are important, all professions are needed. Someone will say that this phrase has become very hackneyed over the years since it was written. And Danish artist Nicolai Howalt would agree with this man. He talks about this in his new photo project called "141 boxers", in which the word "hackneyed" in relation to the profession is not at all a metaphor
