American writer William Burroughs was sure: “You don't have to live. Traveling is a must. Magazine National Geographic annually holds a competition Traveler Photo Contest, in which travelers from all over the world share their impressions of what they saw. This year the competition has just started, and we already have a unique opportunity to enjoy the most interesting pictures.
We have already told the readers of the Kulturologiya. RF website about the results of the last year's photo competition from National Geographic. This year's winner will receive the opportunity to take part in an eight-day expedition to Alaska aboard one of the two ships "Sea Lion" or "Sea Bird" as a gift. Together with a team of experienced naturalist researchers, there will be an opportunity to visit hard-to-reach bays by kayaking, take a walk along forest paths to cascading waterfalls and even see brown bears with your own eyes.
The competition will run until June 30th. The winners will be selected in four nominations: "Travel portrait", "Episode from the life of nature", "Spirit of the place" and "Random moment".
Photographer Sam Morris says he was able to capture these "shards" of icebergs off the coast of Iceland. Polished by ocean waters, these boulders looked like they came here from another planet. The photo was taken at sunset just after a violent storm. Sam Morris emphasizes that the icebergs are very impressive in size, the size of each can be compared to an SUV.
Graham McGeorge, the author of "Peek a Boo", had to travel to Florida (USA) to get such a wonderful photo. There he was faced with many difficulties: bugs, ticks, poisonous snakes, as well as unbearable heat and high humidity. Despite all this, he managed to make a lot of shots about the life of the wild. Among them is a photo in which you can see a fearfully cute owl, the bird slyly peeps out from behind its nest, which, at first glance, seemed empty.
