Georgian actress Iya Ninidze played about 40 movie roles, but still everyone calls her by the name of the heroine who glorified her in 1976 throughout the Union - Denise from "Heavenly Swallows". In the 1990s. she disappeared from the screens, and only years later did viewers learn about how many trials she had to endure.
For the first time, Oya got on the set at the age of 7 - she was lucky to make her debut in Georgy Danelia's film “Don't Cry!”, Where she starred with Evgeny Leonov, Sofiko Chiaureli and Vakhtang Kikabidze. But since childhood, she dreamed not of an acting career, but of the profession of a ballerina. Iya graduated from the choreographic school in Tbilisi and later said that it was ballet training that helped her overcome many difficulties: "".
At the age of 16, incredible popularity fell upon her - she played the main role in the musical comedy "Heavenly Swallows", where her partners on the set were the most famous Soviet artists - Andrei Mironov, Lyudmila Gurchenko, Alexander Shirvindt. Iya recalled that when Mironov first saw her, he jokingly exclaimed: "". On the set, he surrounded her with care, constantly took her to the dining room and fed her with buns. After the release of the film, the young actress was compared to Audrey Hepburn, and newborn girls were named after Oia. This role has become a hallmark of Ninidze.
After graduating from VGIK, Iya Ninidze returned to Tbilisi, where she became an artist of the Shota Rustaveli State Academic Theater. There she worked for 15 years and continued to appear on the stage even in the 1990s, when the war with Abkhazia began. The actress recalled: "".
The actress had to go through many tests in her personal life. She was married three times, but she met her greatest love outside the family. For the first time she married at the age of 17, for the son of Sofiko Chiaureli and Georgy Shengelai. This marriage lasted only two years - Nikolai could not live in Moscow and returned to Tbilisi, and Oya remained in the capital to study at VGIK. At the age of 20, she met her second husband, actor Sergei Maksachev. But this marriage was destroyed by the distance: when Oya moved to Tbilisi due to her mother's illness, Sergei stayed in Moscow.
The actress's third husband supported her when her mother was dying of cancer, adopted her son from a previous marriage, and the couple had a daughter. However, this alliance was not destined to last long. Mikhail had an old dream - to emigrate to the United States, and in the early 1990s he went abroad as a refugee. And Oia with her two children stayed in Tbilisi. By the age of 30, she had lost all her loved ones and could only rely on herself. It was during this difficult period that the actress met her greatest love. Once, after the performance, an admirer volunteered to give her a ride home, who, as it turned out, had been in love with her ever since he had seen her in “Heavenly Swallows”. They began a whirlwind romance, although Iya knew that her chosen one was married. Their happiness was short-lived - after 2 years, Lado died of cancer. His death was such a shock for her that she even thought about suicide, but the children restrained her from this step.
In 1997, Iya Ninidze moved to Moscow, where she performed on the theatrical stage and starred in serials. Once, during a rehearsal, a 300-kilogram decoration fell on the actress, after which she spent a year on crutches, miraculously avoiding the amputation of her leg, and then learned to walk again. "", - the actress admitted. She was always supported by friends, including Irina Ponarovskaya and Larisa Guzeeva. After being injured in 2000Iya Ninidze left the theater - she took it as a sign of fate, and took up vocals. She never regretted her decision, as career and wealth were never the most valuable to her in life.
An ordeal for the actress was a terrible disease that she managed to cope with - breast cancer. When she heard this diagnosis, she closed herself in and did not want to tell anyone about her misfortune. But her friends helped her to raise the necessary amount for treatment and to believe in herself.
Despite all the trials he had endured, Iya Ninidze says: "".
Sofiko Chiaureli became for Iya Ninidze not only a partner on the set, but also a close friend: Zigzags of fate for the most popular Georgian woman in Soviet cinema.
