Peter Velyaminov and his Tatyana: A chance meeting that united two hearts for life

The magnitude of the talent of this actor cannot be overestimated. Pyotr Velyaminov did not have a theatrical education, but his innate self-esteem and devotion to his chosen profession were fully present. He went through 9 years in the camps, but he was not disappointed in life, he was not embittered, he was always extremely honest with himself and with the people around him. Behind him there were already 4 marriages when fate gave him another meeting. And they still had a whole quarter of a century of happiness in store.

Two versions of dating

It's amazing, but each of them has their own version of their acquaintance. Pyotr Velyaminov claimed that they traveled together on the Petersburg-Moscow train. But Tatyana knew for sure that they met in St. Petersburg, visiting mutual acquaintances.

In September 1984, when Tatiana was invited to a party to her friends, she already considered herself to be a completely adult, established person. She was only 27 years old, she came to Leningrad from the provinces, worked in a bank, studied at the institute in the evening department and was in a civil marriage.

She was told that the famous actor Pyotr Velyaminov was invited to the evening. Thousands of women were in love with him, but Tatyana herself did not feel much awe in front of the star. She did not consider herself a lover and connoisseur of cinema at all, so she was unspeakably surprised when Pyotr Sergeevich handed her the script of the film in which he planned to star in and asked for her phone number in order to later ask her opinion. She honestly tried to read this very script at home, but fell asleep on the first pages.

The actor called her after some time, offered to meet. Again, she had no premonitions about this. For two months they met, walked in the park, discussed something, but she still did not think of any feelings there. Then she stood on the platform, escorting him to Moscow, and understood: this man is not just a casual passer-by on her life path. Probably, Peter Velyaminov felt something similar. A completely new stage began in their relationship. It was almost a telephone romance.

Then he called and said that he was going to her. She had a big decision to make that night. She told her common-law husband everything, not considering herself entitled to deceive a loved one.

Eight years for two cities

For eight years, they met during his visits to the shooting in Leningrad. He stayed with Tatyana, and in Moscow, Peter Velyaminov's wife remained. Tatiana did not think about her role in his life. He met her from work with the same bouquet, they went to the cinema and the theater together, they walked a lot. He talked about his past, about his whole family, about nine years in the camps, about long attempts at rehabilitation.

He called her late one evening and announced the divorce. The feeling Tatiana experienced was not so much the joy of the upcoming marriage as the awareness of responsibility for their common fate from now on.

One life for two

At first, she was not even going to change her surname, she did not want to hide behind the name of her famous husband, but at the last moment she still decided: she would become Velyaminova. They signed without any pathos, in an atmosphere of strict secrecy and even without witnesses - they did not want to draw attention to themselves.

On the same day, he left for Moscow to shoot, and on Monday, as usual, she went to work. Pyotr Velyaminov was undoubtedly happy. Tatiana became his last love.

She never felt like a delicate flower to be cared for. They had everything in half: joys and sorrows, victories and defeats. They lost their unborn son for a long time, and Tatyana decided not to try to give birth to a child anymore, it would be too scary to lose him again. She directed her feelings to her husband, in fact, devoting herself to him.

Pyotr Sergeevich was 34 years older than her, but she never felt this difference. She was always interested in being with him, they always had common topics for conversation. Rather, she felt like the eldest in the family. She tirelessly took care of him, accompanied him during his travels to the shooting and on tour.

There were always many guests in their house, the actor just loved it when the house was noisy and fun. And the actor's birthday has always been celebrated on a grand scale. At first, Tatiana was somewhat strained by endless companies, but later she got used to it and learned to get real pleasure from communicating with interesting people.

Together in eternity

He was already 81 years old when Tatyana decided: they definitely need to get married. On the way to church, he only asked if she understood that this was very serious. She understood, and she considered her choice to be the only correct one. She wanted to be with him always, both in this life and in the next. And a few months before he left, he only asked: "How will you be without me?"

He died a year after the wedding. In April 2009, he contracted pneumonia. Together they fought the disease, but the great actor was fading away before our eyes. He passed away on June 14, 2009.

And she still does not consider herself a widow. With her remained friends who accompanied them during their life together with Peter Sergeevich, the memory remains. And the hope for a meeting somewhere out there, in heaven, when her time comes up.
