In Soviet cinema Savely Kramarov was one of the brightest comedians, but always remained an actor of episodes. And he dreamed of serious and big roles. And also about fame, world recognition and decent pay for your work. Like many actors at the time, he sought permission to leave the country, and even wrote a letter to Ronald Reagan asking for help. Savely Kramarov made it to Hollywood, but he did not manage to achieve noticeable success there. In addition, in the USSR there were spectators who admired him, and a woman whom he never managed to forget.

Until recently, almost nothing was known about the woman who, apparently, left the deepest mark in his life. They only knew the name - Masha, and the fact that she was the common-law wife of Savely Kramarov for 13 years. Apparently, she was the only woman he truly loved.

Kramarov had many falls in love, as his biographer and friend Varlen Strongin claims: “He often fell in love, just by clicking. - Maybe because he received little affection in childhood. His mother, Basia Solomonovna, died at the age of 40. Savva was then only 16. But the worst thing is that the pain of losing a loved one haunted Kramarov all his life.

He was married, but this did not deter him from numerous novels. Kramarov commented on his first marriage in the following way: "We got married out of stupidity and three years later parted like ships at sea." Soon after the divorce, the actor met Maria Shatinskaya, together they lived for 13 years in a civil marriage.

Maria was a slender blue-eyed blonde, a head taller than Kramarov - a real beauty. The actor was very proud of his companion. Ninel Knyazeva, who knew them well at that time, recalls: “Next to Shatinskaya Savely seemed unusually elated. He glowed, sprinkled jokes."

It is not known exactly why they broke up. Some family acquaintances claim that grief separated them - their daughter died in infancy, others are sure that the reason for the breakup was Kramarov's betrayal. Ninel Knyazeva sees the main reason for their disagreements on the main issue - Maria did not want to emigrate with her husband: “Most importantly, the common-law spouse under no circumstances wanted to leave with Kramarov in the United States. She worked at the Research Institute of Architecture, was listed in good standing. After all, Savva had long conceived an escape from the Soviet Union. I prepared myself, talked with different people, learned the language, raised funds. He believed that only in the States he would become a real star. And what have you achieved? Completely detached from his native roots!.

This is not to say that Kramarov did not achieve anything in the United States - after all, he played in several films, joined the American Screen Actors Guild, earned money to buy the house he dreamed of. But, of course, he did not have such popularity as in the USSR. And when in the 1990s he returned back to star in the films "Russian Business" and "Nastya", the audience had already forgotten about him. These works were not very successful.

In the United States, the actor twice tried to arrange his personal life, he even had a daughter when he was already 53 years old. But abroad he remained a stranger to everyone. He could not forget about Masha, he even talked about her to his last wife Natalya Siradze. According to her, “he missed Russia, often recalled his girlfriend Masha, with whom he spent almost 13 years. He was terribly in love with her, always wanted to live with her in a forest near Moscow."
