In popularity, only famous singers and actors could compare with them, in the 1990s. they were the idols of millions of viewers. But for some of them, the era of television ended with the twentieth century, and today they can no longer be seen on screens. And other legendary presenters of popular television programs of the 1990s remain on TV today.
The name of Ksenia Strizh (real name - Volyntseva) in the 1990s. was known to everyone: at first she became famous as a DJ of radio "Europe Plus", then became the host of the TV show "At Ksyusha", "Night Rendezvous", "Strizh and others". In 1997, Ksenia returned to the radio. In 2007, she became the host of the Good Night program on Channel One, in 2008, the How to Find a Husband Program? on the channel "Russia". After the death of her father, she became addicted to alcohol, recovered and became almost unrecognizable. But she was able to cope with the difficulties and pull herself together. Ksenia recently underwent plastic surgery, lost 20 kg and looks great again.
Elena Ishcheeva appeared on television in the late 1990s. At first she was the host of the TV program "Teleutro" on "ORT", then - the program "Good Day". And fame came to her after she became the co-host of Elena Hanga in the program "Domino Principle". In 2004, she left the project, worked for some time on the Domashny channel, and in 2008 left television and went into business. Elena Ishcheeva ran the "Stars in the Bank" section on the Banki.ru portal, became the executive director of an information agency, and created a website about the life of bankers "Finparty".
Tutta Larsen (Tatiana Romanenko) began her television career on the BIZ channel, where she hosted the Black Friday and BIZ-TV News programs. In the late 1990s. she became a real star of "MTV" - Tutta Larsen hosted the programs "Kiss Right Through", "Top 20". For a decade, she remained the face of a youth music television channel. In 2008, she moved to the Zvezda TV channel, where she hosted historical and documentary programs. From 2007 to the present day, Tutta Larsen has been working in radio. She found herself in motherhood (she has three children) and Orthodoxy. In 2015, the presenter launched her own channel dedicated to parenting, family relationships and psychology.
The Guess the Melody program was the last project implemented by Vladislav Listyev. Its presenter Valdis Pelsh enjoyed immense popularity and love of the audience. However, fame came to him even before he got on television - together with Alexei Kortnev, they created the "Accident" group and toured successfully. And in the second half of the 1990s, Valdis Pelsh became the host of the "Guess the Melody" program, which entered the Guinness Book of Records for two indicators: the number of viewers (132 million) and the number of episodes (143 programs without breaks and days off). And at the beginning of the new century Valdis Pelsh secured the title of one of the most popular showmen: he hosted the programs "These funny animals", "Russian roulette" and "Rally". In addition, the presenter became a permanent member of the jury of the Higher League of KVN and took up documentary. Since 2015, together with Maria Kiseleva, he has been leading the project Together with Dolphins.
Now on television there are a huge number of programs where they show funny videos shot by ordinary viewers. And in 1992 the program “A director for himself” became the first such project, which had no analogues, and later - and one of the longest. And its presenter Alexey Lysenkov was incredibly popular. Thanks to the success of the program, the presenter began to receive offers from directors and act in films, while he played himself several times. Today Alexey Lysenkov is engaged in social and political activities: he is a member of the State Duma working group on socially significant diseases and drug addiction, is the chairman of the board of trustees of the All-Russian organization of people living with HIV, in 2017 he became an adviser to the governor of the Astrakhan region.
Maria Kiseleva appeared on the screens later than her colleagues. In the 1990s, she was a star in a completely different field - in sports. Before Maria came to television, she managed to become the first Russian Olympic champion in synchronized swimming, three-time Olympic champion, three-time world champion, nine-time European champion and honored master of sports. Her career as a TV presenter began only in 2001 - first she hosted sports news, and then the intellectual show "The Weakest Link", which enjoyed incredible success with the audience.
The image of a strict and uncompromising presenter who never smiles and does not forgive mistakes to the participants has become a real find of this project. And the famous phrase "Who is the weakest link?" made even spectators break out in cold sweat. In 2005, the program was closed, but Kiseleva did not disappear from the screens - she played the role of Vary Ivolgina in the TV series "Idiot" by Vladimir Bortko. Then for some time she disappeared from sight - she got married and went on maternity leave. Only in 2015, Maria Kiseleva again appeared on the screens as the host of the Channel One show “Together with the Dolphins”. In parallel, she took up social and political activities and became a member of the Presidium of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Physical Culture and Sports.
But the star of the permanent host of the program "Around Laughter" rolled in the 1990s: The dramatic fate of the famous satirist and parodist Alexander Ivanov.
