At 32, the name and work of the Japanese artist Kohei Nawa is much more famous in the art world than the work of other young artists. Today Kohei Nawa is one of the most prolific and popular sculptors of his generation. So what is he doing, and how did he hook the viewer?
The young Japanese artist himself calls his works of art sculptures, but this traditional definition does not always correctly characterize his work. For some of his installations, he uses stuffed animals, which he completely covers with small glass balls and beads of various sizes, turning them into sparkling ice statues carved by Mother Nature herself.
Kohei Nawa also created a series of works called "Scum", which is a collection of shapeless objects made from polyurethane foam. He is also the author of the installation "Liquid", which demonstrates the organic movement of fluid, which symbolizes the birth and progress of a creative idea.
The true nature of a Japanese artist's artwork is to excite human senses and sensitivity. Kohei Nawa is confident that sculptures can be created not only from traditionally accepted materials, this art form allows for experimentation and is open to innovation.
Since his first private exhibition in 2000, Kohei Nawa's creative work has become known not only in Japan, but also far beyond its borders. This year, the sculptor plans to host several shows around the world, including Dubai, Barcelona, Zurich and Beijing.
