Japanese Natsu is known for her installations made of intertwined wire with beads strung on it. According to the author, each bead in her works is like an atom in the Universe, and together with them Natsu weaves on the wire and weaves together all her prayers, memories and moments of life.
In her installations, Natsu explores the origin, structure and existence of the universe and humanity, or at least a part of the universe, from its own mythical point of view. “Trying to remind people of the primordial pure mind, I use beads as elements of children's fantasies or particles of the structure of the world and instill mythology into my works,” the author says. - I include in my works the ideas of the synthesis of the dual aspects of our world, such as the fusion of reality and imagination, the harmony of the physical and the non-material, as well as the tension in the relationship between nature and the creations of human hands. My works contain something sparkling and formless, hidden in the unconscious depths of my physical and spiritual existence."
Natsu's creative process is quite simple - repetitive, almost unconscious actions of stringing beads and weaving wires together. "It's like how atoms organize themselves into structures or how birds instinctively build nests," the author says, adding that in the course of her laborious meditative activity, "time turns into art."
Natsu was born in 1976 in Japan and currently lives and works in New York, USA. Graduated from JOSHIBI University of Art and Design in Tokyo. The author annually presents his installations both at solo and as part of group exhibitions that are held in major cities in Japan and the United States.
