Social advertising is the best barometer of public sentiment. The Canadian advertising agency Gray recently released prints in which Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense In America opposed the free sale of weapons.
Tightening the rules for the sale of weapons is a topic that is now receiving special attention in the United States. The statistics of deaths from firearms in peacetime are terrifying: from 2003 to 2010, according to official figures, about 88 thousand people died. Of course, public organizations cannot keep silent about these egregious cases.
The prints are more than convincing. Each of them depicts a pair of children: one of them in the hands of a machine gun, in the hands of the other - a Kinder surprise, a book about Little Red Riding Hood and a dodgeball ball. The choice of "peace props" is not accidental - each of them is prohibited in America. So, the favorite children's sweetness has become inaccessible to children, since this food product contains an inedible object inside. Dodgeball gained fame as a too tough game, and a good fairy tale suffered completely because of a trifle: a bottle of wine was suddenly found in Little Red Riding Hood's basket, which, apparently, can injure a fragile child's psyche. But everything is in order with the weapon - no one is in a hurry to prohibit it yet.
Each advertising poster has a symbolic inscription: “One of the children is holding an object that threatens his safety. Guess which one is. Of course, the answer is obvious, but, according to the law, it is wrong. We can only hope that such projects will really contribute to the fact that every parent will know: “A machine gun is not a toy for children”, and the slogan “In Guns We Trust” will be heard from adults as seldom as possible.
