Summer has come, and many have only beaches, sea, sun and sand in their heads. We deliberately did not write "for many people", because not only people love to splash in the water and run on the beach, but also their four-legged friends. These sport dogs gather on the golden California beach of Coronado once a year, and this year's competition will be the sixth. It would seem that surfing is a specifically human kind of extreme sport, is there a place for dogs here? But four legs are much better on the board than one; as a result, dogs do not complain about poor athletic performance (and those who do complain cannot talk about their problems). For animals, riding on a board is even safer than for people: after all, they do not have a board tied to their legs, which means there is no risk of being dragged away by the wave and drowning.

This time, participation in the competition was more than 50 sports dogs different breeds and sizes. The competition is held in three nominations: big participants, small and tandems. To perform well, surfing dogs need to ride two waves in 10 minutes and demonstrate artistry and dexterity. The photo shows that dogs are natural-born athletes, and the water element does not scare them at all.

This year, the patron saint of sporting dogs is Loews Coronado Bay Resort, and therefore the prize for the winner and his owner is relaxation in a deluxe booth. And all the profit from the event goes to the site DonorsChoose.orgwhere community teachers from San Diego are seeking financial support for their educational programs. Truly a dog is a friend of man! And surfing.
