In his new photo project, the Chinese artist invites viewers to take a fresh look at the things around them. At first, he simply photographs objects, and then leaves only a luminous ethereal outline from the image. The results are impressive.
Experimenting with various applications of computer processing of photographs, the Chinese photographer living in France, Qiu Minye (Qiu minye) created a series of works entitled "My God" ("My God"). The pictures show the outlines of glowing silhouettes. In fact, Qiu Mingye photographs ordinary objects and then leaves only a luminous ethereal outline.
Looking at the photographs, the viewers get the impression that the photographer managed to display a certain vitality of objects, their movable energy. This kind of existential approach to image transmission makes each shot more unique. The author proposes to look at the surrounding reality from an abstract point of view, in which the very concept of a thing, and not its tangibility, is of great importance.
Qiu Minye's work will be on display at Ofoto Gallery in Shanghai until December 6, 2014.
