Colorful Lego Bricks - this is, perhaps, the toy that every child had in childhood. In humans, by nature, there is a desire to create something, so the craving of kids for a designer is quite understandable. This year marks 50 years since the legendary Lego bricks hit the shelves of children's stores in Japan. On this occasion, the Danish company staged a large-scale action called "Build Up Japan" … It was attended by 5,000 children, who were offered to create buildings of the future from cubes. After all these "buildings" were brought to Tokyo, where they were put on public display in the form of a giant map.
The idea of constructing amazing objects from Lego is not new: someone assembles a real Lego house, and someone "plants" a Lego forest, some are working on creating a Christmas tree, others - on creating a copy of the Roman Colosseum. As a rule, such works of art take a lot of time, real masters of their craft, adults, for whom it is more than just a hobby, but rather a lifelong work, work on them.
The main difference of the "Build Up Japan" project is that all this splendor is made by ordinary Japanese children living in six different regions of the island state. The organizers urged them to let their fantasy go free and create an image of the country they would like to see in the future. The organizers literally brought to life the idea that the future of the country is in the hands of children. When a large-scale exposition was put on public display in Tokyo, the creation of which took 1.8 million Lego bricks, then everyone present literally froze in admiration.
