Some artists and art groups are restlessly rushing from one style to another, while others at the very beginning of their creative path find what interests them and continue to move in this direction, developing and improving as an author, creator, creator. Perhaps the theme of creativity, or the material will change, but the idea will remain unchanged, turning into a kind of business card. This is how the Spanish team works. Penique Productionswhose installation Wrapped In Plastic can be called one of the strangest, and at the same time, the most striking art projects of the last half of the year. For many years, the members of the art group have been devoted to one creative idea: they play with space, wrapping rooms with plastic canvases of bright, saturated colors, creating a new reality, forcing people to take a fresh look at the reality around them. As a result of the work done, the rooms turn into rooms for color therapy, if not for the fact that all this looks unnatural, strange, and at times scary.
The process of transforming rooms into multi-colored "cocoons" is interesting in itself. Designers "inflate" the interior in the literal sense of the word, creating an air sphere for each new room in accordance with its dimensions. This method allows the pliable plastic to fill all the space, all the cracks, notches and bulges, emphasizing the relief and shape of the objects that are inside. Finding himself in such an unusual atmosphere, a person receives a lot of new impressions and emotions, since this is a unique opportunity to take a fresh look at what has long become commonplace, uninteresting, boring.
Despite the seeming simplicity and banality, temporary installations Wrapped In Plastic found their connoisseurs in London, Mexico City, Italy, where the Penique Productions art team wrapped the interiors of apartments, museum galleries and atriums in multi-colored plastic. More information about the project is on the website of the Penique Productions studio.
