For more than 50 years, not a single winter holidays have been complete without this wonderful fairy tale. "The Snow Queen" released on screens in 1966, since then more than one generation of children has grown up on it. For all the actors who played in this film, he became iconic and brought them all-Union popularity. But some of them did not have a film career, and some left the cinema themselves, devoting their lives to pursuits that are fundamentally opposite to show business.
Vyacheslav Tsyupa, who got the role of Kai, was a real movie star as a child - he starred a lot and very successfully. At the time of filming, he was 10 years old. To save her son from star fever, his mother gave him a bag of letters from female fans only for his 40th birthday. Vyacheslav Tsyupa did not connect his future with the acting profession. All his life he worked as a theater director, since 1999 he has been the chief director of the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theater, where he has staged more than 40 performances. And although Tsyupa has not appeared on the screens for a long time, every winter fairy tale reminds of itself: "".
Elena Proklova's film debut was the film "They Call, Open the Door!", And "The Snow Queen" became her second film work. She still recalls filming with delight: "".
The film career of Elena Proklova was probably the most successful of all the actors of the "Snow Queen". She acted in films all her life, winning the hearts of thousands of fans. 40 years after the release of the film on the screens, Proklova was again offered to play in The Snow Queen, only this time not Gerda, but the queen herself. Alexander Abdulov was going to shoot a modern fantasy film about how Gerda, never having met her love, turned into the Snow Queen herself. They even flew to Kamchatka to choose locations for filming. But Abdulov passed away, and this project was never implemented.
The role of the little Robber was played by the actress Era Ziganshina. Later she recalled: "". She was offered new roles, but Ziganshina refused them - there were too many of the same type. The actress returned to the cinema in the early 2000s. and has been filmed to this day in a large number of films and TV series.
Irina Gubanova, who played the role of the Princess in the film, continued to act in films and perform on the theater stage until the 1990s. When the crisis struck in the film industry, the actress was left without work and started dubbing foreign films and TV series. In 2000, after suffering pneumonia, Irina Gubanova passed away at the age of 60.
Valery Nikitenko, who played the role of the Storyteller, devoted his life to the Akimov Comedy Theater in St. Petersburg. In addition, for many years the actor has been working on the radio, where he reads poetry and prose and hosts the program Petersburg Satyricon.
But Natalya Klimova, who played the role of the Snow Queen at the age of 30, later left the cinema and became a recluse, devoting her life to religion. In the early 1990s, she had to leave the cinema and theatrical stage due to a severe form of blood tuberculosis. After spending several years in hospitals, the actress, together with her husband, the famous actor Vladimir Zamansky, left for the city of Murom, away from the "sinful bustle", visits the temple, does not communicate with the press and leads a secluded life.
Natalia Klimova and Vladimir Zamansky were not the only ones Soviet actors who left the cinema, linking their lives with religion.
