Timothy Pakron is an extraordinary American photographer. His creative endeavors range from outlandish experiments in the darkroom to deep and complex oil painting.

The works that Pakron creates are more reminiscent of painting, however, each such image is based on a photographic image, which is then manually revised using ink and special ink. “I am fascinated by portraiture. Successful portraits have always made a deep impression on me,”says the artist.

It was this strong passion for portraits and the search for an alternative direction that influenced the artist's artistic thinking and led to the creation of an unusual mixed technique in which the artist works today. By his own admission, he "challenges art" by creating an unusual symbiosis of photography and drawing.

In 2009, Pakron graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in painting and photography. After completing his studies, Pakron began an active exhibition activity. His first exhibitions were held in his native Charleston (South Carolina), including the private gallery of Rebecca Jacob and the city library. This was followed by participation in several personal and group exhibitions. Many of his works can now be seen at the Castell Photography Gallery as well as the Michael Mitchell Gallery in Charleston. Now the photographer and artist lives and works in New York.

The Spaniard Gim Tio Sarraluchi, like Timothy Pacron, combines different types of art in his work. Sarraluki transforms photographs found in magazines into memorable abstract images using a complex system of working with images: the artist uses special chemical solvents and oil pastels, transforming “ideal” pictures of a nonexistent world into highly abstract paintings that create an alarming sense of impending danger in the viewer.
