The strange, surrealistic work of the Belarusian artist Olga Belskaya is striking in its diversity! You can find anything among her works: couples in love, birds, and even a modern reading of Egyptian mythology can be found in them. The philosophical names of the paintings evoke some kind of melancholy moods, what can we say about the specific technique of work, without exaggeration they drive into some kind of meditative state. But is it art or just kitsch?
Olga works in the technique of monotype - the middle genre between graphics and painting (a type of printed graphics). In psychology and pedagogy, it is used by the technique of monotype for the development of imagination in older preschool children. And also in mixed media, graphics in materials: watercolor, pencil, applique, pencil, gouache, oil, acrylic.
The titles of many of her works are full of not only philosophical meaning, but also oddities: for example, "The Tea Princess is drinking tea with the Magic Dog" or "Cabinet Angel". It is very difficult to understand what all this means, but even if you cast a cursory glance at these works, you will see that they were drawn with soul and diligence. They may emanate from something meditative, but not menacingly scary, as is often the case in contemporary art.
The serene faces, drawn in a very, very conditional, very small range of colors, which in other cases might seem annoying, is rather calming here. But at the same time, the works look very stylish and even somewhere ethnic, but at the same time, naive and childishly cute and direct.
Olga Belskaya was born in Brest on October 6, 1979. In 1997 she graduated from the Brest school number 10 with an artistic and architectural bias. In 2002 she graduated from the Brest State University named after I. A. S. Pushkin (specialization - "Folk arts and crafts"). Since 2006 he has been actively publishing works in virtual galleries. The artist's works are in private collections in Belarus, Russia, Czech Republic, Israel and France.
