The creative duo of Tim Maslen and Jennifer Mehra, photographer and installation artist, presented their new project of sculptural installations to the public Mirrored … At first glance, they may resemble the acrylic sculptures of Rob Mulholland, but in reality they only have a similar concept: the impermanence and fragility of humanity, the questions and problems of human existence. A person is always a reflection of the surrounding reality, since he has an amazing property to let through everything that happens around him. Subjective objectivity is the norm, even if the person desperately tries to be open-minded and cold-blooded. In sculptures from Maslen & Mehra, we can also see the reflection of reality. And to perceive it as it is peculiar to us.
The figures of people in a variety of realistic poses and situations, moreover, installed in the appropriate "interior", is a reflection of our life. Surely someone can recognize themselves in this or that figure. Realism is what the Maslen & Mehra tandem can be proud of.
The sculpture exhibition from Maslen & Mehra is taking place in Australia, at the Conny Dietzschold Gallery, and will run until April 30.
