War is war, and lunch is on schedule. Therefore, at the appointed hour, employees of offices and enterprises, students and teachers, educators and kindergarten pupils, coaches, teachers and schoolchildren put off everything and start eating. And although everyone has their own diet, quantity and calorie content, it is still terribly interesting what they feed at the next table, in the next building, in the neighboring city? Photo project School lunch just devoted to this question: what do the schoolchildren of the world eat? How many countries, so many traditions, how many schools, so many school menus. Their variety is striking, and not only with a set of products, sometimes surprising and unexpected culinary solutions, but also with the format of the dishes in the school canteen, as well as the amount of food designed for one student.
For example, in schools for the poor, located in poor countries, a portion is hardly enough to feed a teenager whose growing body requires protein, fat and carbohydrates. More prosperous countries, on the contrary, offer schoolchildren a set of foods that can easily feed two. The composition of the school lunch also attracts attention, and sometimes it is so textbook that it is not difficult to guess in which country the schoolchildren are fed this way. So, the United States immediately gives out cheeseburger and ketchup, rice, fish and seaweed - eastern countries like Japan and China, meat in gravy, lettuce and compote - countries of the post-Soviet space, but empty porridge, beans or beans in a simple bowl means lunch children from India, Honduras or another country whose inhabitants cannot boast of prosperity and well-being will gather in this dining room.
Balanced or harmful, full of vitamins and microelements or based on a combination of fats and carbohydrates, meat or vegetables, appetizing or strange, causing distrust of the chef - all this can be identified at once, you just have to carefully consider each photo of this art project. And who knows, maybe, after studying photos of school lunches, someone with redoubled appetite will take up their "brake" brought from home …

What did the Soviet front-line soldiers of the Second World War eat, and How did they remember the captured German rations?
Food supply during the Great Patriotic War played an important role. The servicemen will confirm that porridge and makhorka helped to win. Over the years of the war, dozens of orders were issued regarding front-line supply. The diet was calculated based on the type of troops, combat missions and locations. The norms were analyzed in detail and adjusted under strict control of the implementation of higher orders
The World of Officials and the Officials of the World in Ian Benning's Photo Project
"Culturology" has already written about such international endeavors as the documentary photo project "Where Children Sleep" and a series of photographs "Girls and Their Rooms". This time, we propose to look where you usually really do not want to go - to state institutions. Photographer Ian Benning will skip the line to take us to the offices of minor officials, whom we have all encountered more than once, and will show us what public places look like in different countries
Quiet world. Silent World Photo Project by Lucie & Simon
There is nothing more terrifying than watching the quiet, absolutely deserted streets of large, densely populated metropolitan areas. Cities in which life is in full swing, regardless of the time of year and day, never fall silent, filled with the hum of cars, conversations of people, music from hypermarkets and children's laughter. But photographers from the duo Lucie & Simon managed to capture the noisy squares, streets and alleys of megacities quiet, deserted and lonely. The photo project is called, Silent World or the World immersed in silence
And the crockery has a face. Original photo project Lunch Garden by Jean-Francois De Witte
Belgian photographer Jean-Francois De Witte is known to readers of Culturology.Ru for his amazing "edible" photo collages on culinary themes. A new photo project by this author is also associated with cuisine, but not with food products, but with an inedible part of cooking - dishes. The series of photographs is called Lunch Garden, and each work claims that even the dishes have their own face, their own character
Served to eat, go watch: photo cycle about "literary" still lifes
Sergei Aksakov once said about Gogol that if fate had not made him a great poet, he would certainly have been an artist-cook. Indeed, there are writers whose works are not only interesting to read, but also “tasty”. Carried away by the descriptions of food in fiction, the designer Dianah Fried created a photo cycle in which she set the tables in the same way as in the famous "culinary" scenes of the classics
