A man is usually in charge of a box, suitcase, bag, or toolbox in a family. However, there are no rules without exception, and such an exception can be called the family of a Scottish artist Polly Verity … Wire, pliers and a hammer are her constant friends and helpers in everyday affairs. No, she's not repairing the fence. She exercises with the wire for a reason: those unusual miniature sculptures, thanks to which Polly was in the center of attention of fans of the original art. A piece of flexible wire, pliers, a few scraps of cloth, and sheets of thin but thick paper - that's all Polly needs to get creative. Masterly wielding pliers, she twists the wire into figures of unearthly creatures - the griffin and the Phoenix bird, Pegasus and the dragon, the Dodo bird and other mythological animals. However, not disregarding the usual fauna: cats, dogs, deer … When the wire frames are ready, the artist carefully wraps them with wet tissue paper, which dries, and tightly "hugs" the figures, turning into a transparent white "skin", thin and very tender.
Even a cow was once made by Polly Verity, and not a miniature statue, but life-size. Then the mammal was hoisted on a high city wall, turning it into a strange installation. Which, among other things, was illuminated from the inside with flashlights. Also, various insects and cartoon characters, which she lovingly calls "my babies", come out of Polly's hands.
Despite the fact that the master puts a piece of his soul into each, even the smallest figure, and therefore it is very difficult to part with them, mini-sculptures can be purchased at prices ranging from 40 to 4000 pounds. And then admire the delicate graceful work for hours, admiring the talent and hard work of Polly Verity.
