Olympic National Park, located in northwestern Washington state on the Olympic Peninsula, is famous for its Ho Rainforest. It is here, not far from Sol Duc, that the famous Douglas spruces grow, the long-livers of the plant world, which live from 700 to 1000 years.

Joshua Tree National Park is located not far from Los Angeles. It is called a tourist's dream thanks to such attractions as interesting rock formations, plants, wild animals and, of course, the very Joshua tree, which looks like a hybrid of palm and cactus, which gave the name to the park. It was here, in the area of Arch-Rock of the National Park, that the photographer captured himself against the background of rock formations.
