On the eve of the approaching Easter, it is more relevant than ever to talk about the so-called "egg" art. We have already talked about pictures from eggshell and lace eggs Gary LeMaster. Our hero today, John Lamouranne, is known for creating sculptures of celebrities from eggshells over the years.

John Lamouranne has been creating his unusual sculptures for over 30 years. It all started in 1978, when the author visited Disneyland during the Easter holidays. This journey inspired him to draw a Disney character on an egg for his daughter. The girl liked it, and the artist continued to paint the eggs with various subjects, but at that time it was more reminiscent of our traditional Easter eggs: each drawing fit on one egg.

But at one point everything changed. “One day I had a dream where I was surrounded by little people who looked like eggs,” says John Lamouranne. - The upper egg served as their head, and the lower one was the body. After that, I started making sculptures of people consisting of more than one egg. These were images of animals, cartoon characters, motorcycles and other objects. The artist became a local celebrity, newspapers wrote about him and films were shot for television.

However, after a while, John Lamouranne plunged headlong into daily work and abandoned his "egg" hobby. The tragedy made him return to this occupation again. In 2005, due to Hurricane Katrina, the artist had to leave his home in New Orleans. After settling temporarily in West Virginia, he again began to create sculptures from eggs and donated them to people who helped him. In the same year, John Lamouranne created a new studio and devoted himself entirely to "egg sculpture".

Now, among the painted sculptures of the 63-year-old author, there are many celebrities: here are football player David Beckham, and US President Barack Obama, and King of Pop Michael Jackson. The artist's works are on sale, and their cost ranges from $ 37 to $ 300.
