25 years ago, on August 19, 1994, the famous Soviet poet of the sixties, Robert Rozhdestvensky, passed away. Throughout his life, he carried love to one woman, to whom he dedicated dozens of his poems - his wife, Alla Kireeva. When the poet was diagnosed with a brain tumor, she did not give up and was able to extend his life by 4 years. They were married for 41 years, but she herself later called it her happiness and grief at the same time.
Robert dedicated his first poem to his father - Stanislav Pyatkevich. When the boy was 5 years old, his parents divorced, at the beginning of the war, his father went to the front and died. Mother married a second time, for Ivan Rozhdestvensky, from whom Robert received his last name and patronymic. Alla Kireeva later said: "".
On the first attempt, Rozhdestvensky did not manage to enter the Literary Institute in Moscow - he was not accepted “for inability,” and in order not to waste time, he applied to the Faculty of Philology at the Karelian University. After studying there for a year, Robert transferred to the Literary Institute. There he met Alla Kireeva, who was his classmate. The poet won her over by being very kind, shy, sincere and reliable. Alla spoke very briefly about the beginning of their romance: "".
After the wedding, they lived in a 6-meter room in a communal apartment in the basement in the courtyard of the Writers' Union, but the constrained material conditions did not bother them - they were very happy. She called him Roba, and he called her - Alyonushka.
While studying at the Literary Institute, Rozhdestvensky published his first collection of poetry. In the 1960s. he became a celebrity, his books were sold in 100,000 copies. Alla Kireeva said: "". The whole country knew songs based on his poems - "All Life Ahead" by VIA "Gems", "My Years" by Vakhtang Kikabidze, "Echo of Love" by Anna German, "Call Me, Call" by Irina Muravyova from the movie "Carnival", etc. Of course, the poet had many female fans who were looking for meetings with him. But he himself was not only not happy about this, but even ashamed of his fame - he walked the streets, covering his face with his hand so that no one would recognize him. Nevertheless, his wife was very jealous of his fans. Alla Kireeva admitted: "". However, her husband did not give her reasons for jealousy.
Robert and Alla had two daughters. Both became journalists, and the eldest, Ekaterina, was also a translator and photo artist. She became known for a series of works entitled "Private Collection" in the magazine "Caravan of stories", where she presented famous contemporaries in the images of characters in paintings by artists of the past.
In 1990, the poet was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. After an operation in France, there was hope for a recovery. His wife was always there and supported him as best she could. All these years he continued to write poetry and never tired of confessing his love to his permanent Muse. They say that it was thanks to her that he lived for another 4 years. In 1994, Robert Rozhdestvensky died of a heart attack. He was only 62 years old.
They spent 41 years together, but Alla Kireeva did not idealize this time, although she said that those around them probably envied them. She confessed: "".
A few months after her husband's death, Alla Kireeva found a telegram on the table … from him! When she read the text: "", it was a real shock for her. It turned out that it was a telegram from the 1960s.
Alla Kireeva was a well-known literary critic, the author of 3 books, but after the death of her husband she stopped writing. Her new hobby was painting, in which she found an outlet. She continued to call herself the wife, not the widow of Rozhdestvensky, and did not even think about building a new family. "" - she admitted. In May 2015, Alla Kireeva passed away at the age of 82.
One of the most famous poems of Rozhdestvensky, dedicated to his wife, was "Nocturne" - a hymn to love carried through the whole life.
