This has never happened in the history of Eurovision. In just a few days, four Ukrainian musical groups at once announced that they did not want to represent their country at a high music forum. As a result, Ukraine refused to participate in Eurovision-2019. So who are they - the musicians, because of whom Ukraine's participation in the competition failed.
MARUV
MARUV - such a pseudonym was chosen by the Ukrainian singer Anna Korsun. Real music lovers remember her from the group "The Pringlez", which took part in the Russian music competition "New Wave-2015" and took then third place.
Anna was born in Pavlograd on February 15, 1992. In this city, she graduated from a music school, was engaged in dancing, was a member of the "Lik" group, which toured a lot in Ukraine. After school, Anna entered two universities at once - the Kharkiv National University. VN Karazin and the Kharkov Polytechnic Institute. As a result, the girl has 2 diplomas of higher education - in the specialty "radio physics and electronics" and "specialist in the field of intellectual property".
Anna's musical career began with the student collective "The Pringlez", where Anna was the vocalist and leader of the group. At the same time, the girl was engaged in a solo career, and in 2014 she became a member of the Voice of the Country project. After that, there was first place in the "Pepsi Stars of Now" competition and participation in the "New Wave".

In 2017, the singer moved from Kiev to Kharkov and started life from scratch. She became "MARUV", the new group was announced as the heirs of "The Pringlez" and changed the repertoire.
On February 23, 2019 MARUV became the winner of the Eurovision-2019 national selection. But after 2 days, the girl announced that she was refusing the honorary mission to represent Ukraine at an international music competition. The fact is that the members of the board of the National Public TV and Radio Company of Ukraine prepared an agreement for the artist, in which, in addition to refusing to tour in Russia, there were a number of political obligations.
Freedom-jazz
The Ukrainian musical group Freedom-jazz was created in 2008. This unique jazz band includes 10 girls: keyboards, saxophonists, bass guitar, drums, trumpet and a trio of vocalists. In 2011, the team took part in the television program "Show No. 1" with a very extravagant musical number. After this performance, Freedom-jazz quickly burst into the media space of Ukraine and became one of the best bands in the country.
At the national selection for participation in Eurovision-2019, the group took second place. But when they were offered to go to the competition instead of MARUV, the group refused. We just received a call from NOTU, we want to inform you that we refuse to participate in Eurovision-2019, the group said in a statement.
KAZKA
KAZKA - the name of this musical group is translated from Ukrainian as "fairy tale". The group performs pop with elements of electro-folk. There are three members in the group: multi-instrumentalist Nikita Budash, piper Dmitry Mazuryak and vocalist Alexandra Zaritskaya. Musicians in the media are called "breakthrough of the year" and "Ukrainian sensation". And they are the ones who lead the rating of Ukrainian artists on YouTube. The first success came to the group after performing the song "Crying" from the debut album "KARMA" (2018). This song was played on Russian radio stations, and critics noted that this was the first song in Ukrainian in many years, which rose to the first steps of the Russian charts.
In February 2019, the KAZKA group took part in the national selection for Eurovision-2019. The musicians performed the English-language composition "Apart" and took third place. After MARUV, the winner of the national selection, refused to represent Ukraine at the international competition, and the Freedom Jazz group, which was the second at the qualifying stage, followed suit, the KAZKA group received an offer to participate.

But the guys said: “We followed this to the national selection. But we don't need victory at any cost. Our mission is to unite people with our music, not to sow discord. Therefore, we have a clear answer to the proposal of NOTU: we will not go to Eurovision in 2019”.
Brunettes Shoot Blondes
The Ukrainian musical group Brunettes Shoot Blondes was founded in Krovy Rog in 2010 by drummer Roman Sobol and vocalist and songwriter Andrey Kovalyov. The band performs indie pop and alternative music.
The group's first success came in the fall of 2014, when a viral video for the song Knock Knock appeared on YouTube. The band later released their debut LP "Bittersweet" and a music video for the auto giant Opel. In the national selection, Brunettes Shoot Blondes finished fourth. But after three applicants refused to participate in Eurovision-2019, the team members said that they would not go to the competition if they received such an offer from NOTU.
So many things happened at this high musical forum. Last year the Israeli woman won Eurovision-2018, conquering the jury with a song in which she cackles inimitable.
