We all remember very well the biblical legend about how Satan tempted Jesus by offering him to turn stones into bread. If you happened to visit China and see "Stone banquets", all doubts that this is possible would be dispelled immediately - the dishes on the tables look very appetizing. True, it is impossible to taste them - all the dishes are "prepared" from stones. The range includes fossilized pasta, rocky dried fruits and much more.
The attitude to stones in China is special: they know how to value natural resources and admire their beauty. Many Chinese people collect stones all their lives, replenishing their collections in specialized "stone" stores or going in search of them in the mountains. Stones, which in their color and shape resemble edible dishes, are especially appreciated here. It can take a long time to find unusual carnelian or jade, but the result will be worth it. The organization of the so-called "stone banquets" is an old Chinese tradition, which is very popular among both locals and tourists.
Most often, "banquet tables" are set in the city of Liuzhou, which is considered the "stone" capital of the country. More than 100 thousand collectors live here, who gladly devote their free time to collecting and sorting stones. The city also houses the largest museum, where exhibitions with a culinary focus are held. Dishes with all sorts of treats are displayed on the tables; most of them are very difficult to distinguish from edible delicacies.
One of the first exhibitions at the museum was held in 2009, where the collector Zhou Jiaqun presented stones that resemble dishes such as stewed pork with sauce, fried crabs, steamed fish, grilled chicken and even hamburgers. Last year there was a presentation of the "menu" from Tang Xianfeng, which included 173 stone dishes. Of course, I really want to eat such beauty, so it is not recommended for tourists to visit the museum of stones on an empty stomach.

It's hard to believe, but these realistic paintings were made not in oil or watercolors, but with ordinary ballpoint pens
“All I have is just eight colored ballpoint pens,” says self-taught Portuguese artist Samuel Silva, who creates stunningly realistic paintings that are so hard to distinguish from photographs. According to the author, he never mixes colors, but only applies several layers of ink with strokes so that the illusion of mixing and various colors is obtained, which he actually does not have
