Technological progress in the 21st century is moving forward by leaps and bounds: inventions are becoming obsolete at such a rate that not everyone can keep up with this rhythm. The latest technology is invading our daily lives, making it brighter, more fun and often easier. In recent years, digital photographs have almost completely replaced paper photographs, but it turns out that their age may not be long: soon humanity has a chance to move from images to three-dimensional figures.

The idea of creating tiny "copies" of people has been in the air for several years now. Not so long ago, on the site Kulturologiya. Ru, we wrote about a cafe where they make gelatinous copies of visitors using a special scanner that remembers the proportions of the body and facial features. But the Hamburg studio TWINKIND decided to tackle a more durable project: figurines made in the image and likeness of the customer are not at all edible, they can be placed as souvenirs on bookshelves or on a desktop.

The TWINKIND studio project is commercial: everyone can purchase a realistic sculpture, the height of which will be from 6 to 14 inches. True, the pleasure is not cheap - the production of one figurine-portrait costs about 225 euros. To achieve maximum similarity, the customer undergoes a full 3D body scan, which is absolutely safe for the human body. If you wish, you can take any pose that you want to capture. The results obtained are used to make a model from polymer plastic.

It takes from two to five weeks to make the statuette, depending on the complexity of the work, and also because the demand for such a service is great, while it is not yet possible to turn it into mass production.
