"Awakening" in Gorky Park. The world's largest painting of 240 kg of coffee

Since coffee for many people is already steadfastly associated with the morning and the need to wake up, this is how the Moscow artist Arkady Kim called his huge picture of coffee beans - " Awakening". This monumental work with an area of 30 square meters and was presented to the public on Wednesday, June 26, in Moscow, in the Central Park of Culture and Rest named after Gorky. The author and his assistants in the amount of 5 people worked on the creation of the picture here, in park, from June 14. This process could be watched by everyone walking in the park, but many came here specifically to see with their own eyes how 240 kg of selected coffee beans of different colors (this depends on different degrees of roasting, for the formation of a black and white pattern) turned into a work of art.

Representatives of the Guinness Book of Records also attended the presentation ceremony of the picture, who recorded the result and issued a corresponding diploma to Arkady Kim. From now on, he is officially listed as the author of the world's largest painting made from coffee beans. The victory was celebrated on the spot: the organizers set up a mini-cafe in the park, where everyone was served aromatic freshly brewed coffee. Perhaps from grains of the same variety that were used to create the record picture. In total, "Awakening" consists of 1,000,000 coffee beans.

It will be possible to see, touch, smell and photograph the record-holder painting in Gorky Park until July 1. There are several versions of what will happen to "Awakening" later: either it will be handed over to the museum, or it will be disassembled, grinded, brewed and drunk …
