Anyone who has seen the lights of a night metropolis at least once will hardly ever forget this sight, and will be able to understand what is drawing people into this seemingly soulless collection of concrete boxes and snorting cars. German photographer and designer Christian Stoll provides us with such an opportunity.
With artwork and style Christian Stoll we are already partly familiar - remember his series of epic photographs, which reflect the power of the post-industrial era. The Night City series is, in principle, an inseparable continuation of the same idea. The artist was inspired by three metropolises: Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Paris.
There are a lot of photographs and photographs capturing the lights of the city at night. However, there are some important subtleties here. Firstly, really successful photography requires a huge exposure, aperture of the lens or a very good matrix of the camera. Secondly, the coincidence of all these three conditions with an interesting perspective is generally quite rare, and panoramic photos of large cities in the shine of lanterns and car headlights are rarely without overexposure.
