If suddenly sometime among the crowd of hurrying passers-by you see black, as if schematically drawn figures - do not be surprised. This means that New York-based artist Yvette Helin's The Pedestrian Project, which blends visual art, weirdness and social satire, has reached your city.
The project features several actors dressed in custom-made black suits. These clothes are modeled by the author of the project based on the images of men, women and children that we usually see in public places - for example, on traffic signs. Imitating the activities of ordinary people, these sculptural forms wander the streets of the city for several hours, attracting the attention of passers-by. The main goal of the author is to capture the imagination of people who are always busy in a hurry and make them see themselves in these generalized black figures.
"They're fun to watch," says Yvette Helin of her "men in black", "but people usually find them a little weird." Reactions to unusual pedestrians range from admiration to hostility. Yvette says that once she even had to explain to a police officer who did not want to let people with closed faces on the subway.
The Pedestrian Project started in 1989 in New York and has since become international. Support for the project, including material support, is provided by many organizations and institutions of the USA, Denmark, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Germany. After the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Yvette suspended her project - the figures in black, according to the author, could now scare people, and not amuse them. However, a few years later, The Pedestrian Project was resumed. "I miss my pedestrians!" - Yvette admits.
Yvette Helin is a New York-based artist and costume designer. More information about the author of the EA site.

People made of cement on the streets of the city. Isaac Kordal art project
The use of cement in construction has become a kind of fingerprint that humanity leaves on the body of nature. For example, in Spain alone during 2007, 54.2 million tons of this material were spent. The whole world is in a construction boom, and the islands of nature in big cities are getting smaller and smaller. But man is also a part of nature, only the “cement” life swallows him up with his head. Spanish author Isaak Cordal calls this phenomenon “tse

If you only have a couple of moments to get to know Jon Beinart, then, glancing over his paintings, you will see black and white portraits or several human figures.
