In the eyes of men, all women are candy in colorful packages. And the more attractive this very packaging, the more chances that there will be a mass of people who want to check what is inside. And even if the "candy" itself turns out to be not as tasty as expected, it can always be used as a souvenir, decoration, toy, you just need to change the packaging for a brighter, brighter, more attractive one. This is often the case: a smartly dressed pretty girl serves as a kind of interior decoration for men, a beautiful doll that can be bragged to friends. This idea formed the basis for the installation " Lamp girls"by a French photographer Marianne Maric … A woman in the role of a lamp, a household appliance, which is always needed and useful in the household, does not take up much space, and on long winter evenings is able to brighten up loneliness, warming and illuminating the room, creating coziness and comfort for those who are inside.

Despite such a sad explanation for her new job, Marianne Maric is not at all offended by life a feminist. On the contrary, she really loves to take pictures of her friends in order, according to her, to preserve the most pleasant moments of their life, and then, when many years pass and significant changes take place in life, one could get these pictures and remember what they were like, what they were fond of, how they treated life. Philosophical, classical attitude to photography: "stop, moment!"

In this way, Marianne Maric tried to "freeze" the living girls as lamps, ready to fulfill any desire of their owners. To shine here and there, to bend, straighten, move to the far corner … Limp and submissive, such is their lot, women-lamps - to give light to those who ask them about it.
