At the Seoul Contemporary Art Gallery called 4Walls there will be an exhibition of bizarre sculptures by a Korean author Kang Duck-Bong … His works are unusual in that, being static and not moving, they nevertheless look as if they are rushing wherever they look, despite the powerful headwind literally knocking him down. Alas, we know little about the sculptor himself. Born in 1979 in South Korea, he graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in ecology, intending to protect the environment, but the creative side was still stronger. A talented artist and, as it turned out later, a sculptor, Kang Dak Bong took part in exhibitions, his paintings were shown in galleries along with the works of other young artists. And in the 4Walls gallery will be presented a series of his sculptures made of plastic pipes, which is called Disguise.

The figures of people and cars are made from small pieces of pipes painted with a layer of urethane paint. Moreover, they are painted in such a way that shades of one color smoothly blend into one another, forming a soft, beautiful gradient. The same soft gradient, however, already of several colors, covers the finished sculpture. An artist by vocation, Kang Dak Bong has an amazing sense of color.
