France is, of course, a country of haute couture. So high that leading designers of fashion houses create exclusive outfits not only for people, but even for bicycles! So far, however, only within the framework of the “Be Cycle & Fashion” art project, so we are not talking about a trend here. But still interesting!
The project "Be Cycle & Fashion" was conceived and implemented by the efforts of the French PR agency "Idenium" with the support of the Internet TV channel "One Heart Chanel". On the part of the organizers, it took twelve identical bicycles of the Peugeot brand, on the part of the designers involved in the project - imagination and bold ideas. Such authors as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Ylan Anoufa, Gabriella Cortes, Karim Bonnet, Kenzo Takada and others undertook to dress up two-wheeled vehicles.
Although the automotive market is still not going to give up its positions, the number of bicycles in big cities is growing, which indicates the inevitable onset of an era of an environmentally conscious generation. Therefore, the goal of the “Be Cycle & Fashion” campaign, on the one hand, is to make the popular mode of transport look attractive, and on the other, to try to attract those who have not yet appreciated its charms to cycling.
According to the designers who took part in the project, “Be Cycle & Fashion” is a unique event in which it was possible to combine ecology and glamor. For the first time, fashionable bicycles were presented to the public at the end of June 2010 in Cannes, for the next three months they will be shown in various cities, and in October they will be sold at auction.
