You don't have to travel all over the world to see wonderful events and vibrant festivals: often the amazing is nearby, and not at all forbidden. An example of this is the recent fire festival in Kiev, where the best fire craftsmen have been lighting for the fifth year in a row.
Fire festival in Kiev - one of the largest such events in the CIS. Like the insane Tel Aviv airshow, it is sponsored by an energy drink maker - not Red Bull, but fiery Burn. Indeed, advertising is the engine of entertainment! The festival traditionally takes place in the tenth of June.
This year, the fire festival in Kiev opened with a parade on June 10: 500 artists solemnly walked along Kontraktova Square. Firemen of all countries usually catch the eye with their special, even by the standards of subcultures, appearance: after all, playing with fire is a hobby like bikerism that leaves an imprint on a person's entire life.
Kiev Fire Fest 2011 - an international event: this year there were "firemen" (as players with fire call themselves) from Ireland, Finland, Bulgaria, Germany, Scotland, the USA - and many brought new numbers. And not only the numbers, but also special props: in the arsenal of the "firemen" artists there are fiery hoops, torches, balls on chains (the so-called pyropoi), fans, flaming swords - and, of course, flashes of flame from their mouths. The costume is also very important: many firemen prefer to do without it, but the most responsible artists must prepare an outfit, usually a very fantasy one. Some of the artists' performances are a whole little theatrical performance; however, the fire on the stage is stronger than all passions.
Although in general festival in Kiev dedicated to fire, its program included acrobats and gymnasts; and at the climax - explosions and fireworks. All the action took place at the "Spartak" stadium, and, according to eyewitnesses, not only was not inferior to last year's, but also surpassed in brightness, unusual dances and that elusive substance, which is called "drive".
