The paintings of the young artist Ayami Kawashima can be classified as “two in one”. On each of the works of the young talent, you can see color portraits of beautiful girls surrounded by sketches of various characters.
Ayami Kawashima lives in Tokyo and is a senior student at OTIS College of Art and Design (California). At the age of three, the girl began to study classical ballet, and at the age of fourteen she went to comprehend the intricacies of the dance profession in Boston. As is often the case, her studies were accompanied by constant injuries and surgeries, and during one of her rehabilitation periods Ayami began to draw. Her works were highly appreciated by the OTIS admissions committee, which allowed the ballerina in 2006 to enter the College of Art and Design without any problems.
The artist paints with oil and graphite on wood. The girls in Ayami Kawashima's paintings are ballerinas, and the schematic drawings around them are most often symbolic images of the difficulties, fears and temptations that all representatives of this profession have to face. For example, the picture "shhh … Please dont tell" is about how a ballerina eats forbidden sweets and asks not to tell anyone about her secret.
Ayami Kawashima already boasts solo exhibitions: her work has been shown in the La Luz de Jesus Gallery and 1988 Gallery. All her paintings are for sale, their cost ranges from $ 250-300.
