Lisa Farmer is known as the author of unusual accessories: her miniature leather handbags from the collection "Neither fish, flesh, fowl nor good red herring" are made in the form of fish and insects. In this original way, Lisa is trying to combine her love for fashion, design, art and nature.
The author calls her accessories "portable containers" and says that fragile creatures pushed her to create them, whose beauty teaches us to observe miniature details; creatures that most people involuntarily disgust, although upon closer acquaintance they grab our attention and arouse genuine curiosity. “The strangeness of these creatures does not fit into the framework of the modern world, where we are taught that the form must match the content, and additional decorations are considered unnecessary and useless,” says Lisa Farmer.
Lisa is convinced that her accessories are more than simple bags. “These objects serve as a receptacle for our most precious and personal belongings, but in fact they contain much more - they contain values. The values of beauty, wealth, sensuality, creativity and originality. They contain the warmth of the hands that have enjoyed creating these accessories and the hands that enjoy using them with equal pleasure."
Lisa Farmer was born in North Carolina (USA). After graduating from university, she managed to work in various companies in the USA, Italy and Great Britain, including Mandarina Duck, Galleria Nazionale D'arte Moderna in Rome, Deutsche Bahn, British Telecom, BP British Petroleum and San Pellegrino. However, in 2000, Lisa decided to take a break from her career, taking a sabbatical. She wanted to do something not according to the client's order, but of her own free will. This is how the unique collection "Neither fish, flesh, fowl nor good red herring" was born.
