Video: Philippe Guillerm sculptures: violins or people?

The main goal of the sculptor Philippe Guillerm is to reflect and demonstrate in his works the feelings and attitudes of people. But the implementation of this idea is rather unusual, because instead of the people themselves, he depicts stringed musical instruments.
The master's wooden sculptures are bizarre and unusual. Musical instruments exactly repeat human actions and reproduce scenes from everyday life of people: holding hands, dancing, hugging, climbing a mountain, reading books … We look at violins or cellos, but at this moment we are not thinking about music at all, imagining the place of ordinary people - worried, in love, thoughtful …
Philippe Guillerm began his professional life in Paris (France), the city where he was born in 1959 and lived for 20 years. The subsequent years of the sculptor's life were spent in constant travels with his wife and two daughters on his sailing ship. He has worked on various projects around the world: at the Black Pearl Museum in Tahiti, at New Caledonia International Airport, yacht clubs and restaurants in Brazil and Australia. Currently, the sculptor's studio is located in Kandem (Maine, USA).
All of the sculptor's works are made of exotic or locally grown types of wood: mahogany, poplar, walnut, rosewood, greenhart, terminalia.
Philippe Guillerm's works are exhibited in galleries in Europe, South America, France, Canada and the USA. The sculptor does not stop there, continuing to bring to life more and more new projects that express his emotions and dreams. You can find out more about Philippe Guillerm's work on his website.

Why did people in Venice throw people straight into the sewers?
Today, thousands of tourists walk across the bridges of Venice every day, but there were times when it was better to stay away from them - for about a year, during the fall and winter, zealous fights were arranged on these narrow bridges - and not just one-on-one, but whole crowd against another crowd of the same kind
People and animals, or people-animals. Shocking sculptures by Kate Clark
Healthy as a bull, fat as a hippopotamus, stupid as a ram, dirty as a pig, stubborn as a donkey … as well as possible confirm the fact that we have not gone so far from the animals. At least in habits and behavior. And sometimes in a way of life, it is not for nothing that one who works at night is called an owl, and an early bird a lark … In sculptural installations am
People, people and again people. Drawings by John Beinart
If you only have a couple of moments to get to know Jon Beinart, then, glancing over his paintings, you will see black and white portraits or several human figures. But the drawings of this author are nevertheless recommended to be considered more thoughtfully and more carefully: and then you will see that in each image there are tens and hundreds of people, who can be peered at for hours
"Disguised" gold. New collection of "natural" jewelry from Philippe Cramer (Philippe Cramer)
Sea jellyfish and octopuses, mountain crystals and ocean corals are all born and bred by nature. And at the same time, they are muses, giving inspiration to the Swiss jeweler and designer Philippe Cramer, who dedicated his new collection of gold and silver jewelry to these wonders of nature
Painted violins by Julia Borden
Looking at the world with different eyes and seeing things in objects that others do not notice - aren't these qualities that real artists should have? Take violins, for example. Most people see them as just a string instrument - nothing more. But Julie Borden (Julie Borden) approached the matter creatively and saw in them canvases for her paintings
