"What a boring table" - one might think, giving this project just a cursory glance. Three boulders and glass on top - where is the innovation, where is all the beauty of design? But as it turns out, everything is not so simple here. In fact, the table is almost entirely made of … cardboard. How it happened - read below.
As soon as we see such "legs" at the table, it seems to us that it is completely unsuitable for everyday life. Well, how, tell me, how it will be possible to move it around the apartment, wipe the dust under it, if it has to weigh a whole ton? In fact, these problems simply won't exist, and here's why. Before us are far from huge boulders, but recycled sheets of cardboard. We throw away this material, realizing that we do not need it at all, however, even from cardboard you can make something very useful. The sheets were recycled and mixed with glue, which ended up with a strange mix. Huge boulder stones are already made from it, subsequently polished to perfect smoothness. But why did the project, with all its originality, receive the name "Water"?
Here's the thing - we haven't talked about the countertop yet. And she also plays an important role here. It is not casually made of glass - this gives it a stunning resemblance to the smooth surface of water. As a result, we get several pebbles located under the river water. A wonderful combination, isn't it? Unfortunately, it is not easy to understand whether the table remains heavy, but it will definitely not weigh a couple of tons. Nevertheless, cardboard, albeit in such an unusual form, cannot weigh more than a stone.
The idea of the project belongs to the Brazilian designer Domingos Totora
