Dallas-based Mark Shane Nelson is another self-taught artist who is well worth learning from many contemporary artists. Being from childhood fascinated with building from Lego bricks and visualizing his fantasies with the help of colored pencils, markers and crayons, the author continues his work to this day. The fantastic worlds in this "new" creativity are still the same, except that he himself has matured, and the drawings have become more mature.
Looking at the paintings belonging to the brush of this artist, one involuntarily compares them with the immortal creations of Salvador Dali. Perhaps they have a common genius, which brought fame to the elder, and now inspires the younger? However, Mark Shane Nelson in no way compares his work with the work of such renowned masters.
“I remember with what passion and admiration I built Lego cities as a child, how I drew incredible abstractions,” says Mark Shane Nelson. This passion does not give him rest in adulthood, inspiring new works. Already more meaningful and stronger, but just as incredible as before.
