Talking about her work, the artist Elsa (Elsita) Mora (Elsa Mora) mentions that her works are about human nature, about who we are, and how we communicate and interact with each other, perceive ourselves and the whole world around us. Elsa Mora is engaged in painting, photography, illustrations and ceramic sculptures, but most of all admire her fragile and enchanting works of art, cut from paper.
Elsa Mora was born and raised in Cuba, and only in 2001, having married an American, she moved to the United States. The artist creates complex, deep, intricate paper paintings, which she carefully carves with a special knife. In her works, Elsa explores the themes of relationships, family, love, depicting many personal stories from her own experience.
Elsa Mora devotes a lot of time to art, creating all her works by hand. She is confident that what is done by the artist's hands with love brings joy and comfort to the home of the person who receives this work: “Buying handmade products is a way of self-expression and exchange of information. You express yourself through the items that you choose for your environment and that you give to other people. Handicrafts have a very different meaning from mass-produced goods because they carry the energy of the person who created them. Therefore, we feel comfortable when we buy something that was made with soul and love. When we buy handmade products, we buy not just a thing, but something more, we get an idea, a concept of human values. By buying handicrafts, you show that you care about other people, that you are open to them, and that you are ready to bring something new into your life. It's a kind of exchange and human interaction."
