Girls are like stars, girls are like birds, girls are like flowers … Japanese-American artist Yoskay Yamamoto sees the beautiful half of humanity in this way, and does not get tired of talking about it through his canvases. A self-taught artist, Yamamoto moved from Japan to the United States at the age of 15, and there, impressed by the difference between Western and Eastern cultures, he stood up to his easel and took up his brush.
In the paintings of this author, you will not find the usual anime girls associated with Japanese creativity. On the contrary, Yoskaya Yamamoto draws everything in a very European way. Only emotions and images still remained oriental, unearthly, ghostly, unreal.
It is difficult to define the genre in which Yamamoto works. About himself, he says that in his works he seeks to combine the traditions of the urban culture of the US West Coast with Japanese elements. How he does it, and whether he succeeds - you can find out by opening the author's personal site.
