Ric Stultz is a young artist and illustrator based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, whose studio always emanates the sound of rock and roll and the smell of aromatic coffee. And in this creative atmosphere, the American is engaged in drawing, painting and design. Currently, Hot Pop in Milwaukee is hosting an exhibition of his latest illustrations, which will run until July 24, featuring a total of 70 new works by the artist.
Ric Stultz's drawings are more like illustrations for an adult audience, depicting formidable and bulky machine characters and animal robots on canvas.
After earning a BA in Graphic Design in 2002, illustration has become a major interest for the American artist. “The most important thing for me is to paint and I made it my main occupation, giving it all my free time,” says Ric Stultz.
Describing his creative process, the illustrator admits that everything starts in his drawing book. When he has an idea, Ric Stultz first sketches in pencil, later in ink, and then applies gouache. The artist says that it is easier for him to pick a color on a dark base than on a white sheet of paper. Then he mixes the colors and starts painting with gouache. After the picture is colored, Ric Stultz applies the final ink strokes to enhance the blacks. The last thing the artist resorts to is to paint the background with a white layer of decorative putty.
Most of Ric Stultz's gouache paintings cost an average of $ 300. And it is worth noting that they are very popular with buyers. Ric Stultz's work has been published in magazines such as Arkitip, ROJO, WAV and Kotori, and is also featured in many international collections in galleries in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, London and Barcelona.

How soda machines appeared in the USSR, and what a funny thing because of them happened to Khrushchev in America
For the first time, the automatic sale of carbonated water in the USSR at the official level was mentioned in 1932. "Vechernyaya Moskva" published a note that the Leningrad plant worker Agroshkin invented an innovative gas water device. The development of automated trade in the Soviet Union began under the auspices of Khrushchev. Pre-war engineering developments were brought to life after Nikita Sergeevich's visit to America, where he was introduced to a similar device. For four decades of operation
Iron Horse, robots and others. Steel steampunk paper sculptures
We have already got acquainted with the work of the American artist and sculptor Phillip Valdez. Then it was about masquerade masks, made only of paper, but so talented that the queen herself would not refuse to appear at the ball in one of them. These products are rightfully called works of art, but other works of this author are no less masterpieces. Philippe Valdez turns cardboard and paper into … metal, and creates amazing robots from this material
Gothic construction equipment from Wim Delvoy
What do you associate with Gothic? The Middle Ages, cathedrals, lancet windows and arches … Wim Delvoye in his works also uses all the traditional elements of the Gothic style - all the same arches, all the same pointed forms … But the things he creates are in the last place associated with gothic and art in general. What is this? Construction equipment models
Movies and machines in them. Car Posters by Jesus Prudencio
The movie posters almost always write the names of the actors who star in a given film, but they never mention an equally important participant in the filming - the car that the main characters drive. Illustrator Jesus Prudencio decided to correct this sad trend by creating a series of alternative cult movie posters dedicated to cars
An elephant was driven along "Les Machines de l'Ile": a park of mechanical machines in Nantes (France)
Science fiction is good because it can become a reality if you want to. French decorators Francois Delaroziere and Pierre Orefice reasoned this way and created a unique amusement park inspired by the discoveries of Leonardo da Vinci (which only his drawings of a mechanical knight and a lion are worth!) And Jules Verne. The "Steam House" (from the novel of the same name), which outwardly resembles an elephant, is remembered by all admirers of the great science fiction writer
