When conceptual artist Michael de Broin first told his partners that he wanted to create the world's largest disco ball and hang it over Paris at night, they probably thought their companion was a little out of his mind. I wonder what they think of their colleague now that his crazy dream has come true?
The idea of turning the most romantic capital in the world into a huge dance floor with a mirror ball seemed crazy and impossible to many people. But Michel de Bruen enthusiastically got down to business and once again proved to everyone that nothing is impossible in this world - there would be a desire. The artist created a ball with a diameter of 7, 5 meters and consisting of 1,000 small mirrors, and one dark winter night lit a disco sun over Paris. With the help of a huge crane, the ball was lifted to a height of 50 meters. And then everything is like in a disco: streams of light directed at the ball, and thousands of rays reflected by mirrors …
A huge luminous ball was hung in the Luxembourg Gardens during the "White Night" - a cultural event, when during one night all museums and galleries open their doors to visitors. Rays of light reflected from the ball were visible even in remote areas of the city.
Michel de Bruen was born in 1970 in Montreal. He currently lives and works alternately in Canada and Europe. More information about the author and his work on the site.

How the largest temple appeared in the center of Moscow on the site of the largest pool
Where now stands the Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on Volkhonka, only 25 years ago there was a large pool. Black caviar instead of sprat: How the largest corruption scheme collapsed in the USSR due to a minor oversight
Almost everyone has heard a couple of incredible stories from their friends that, they say, he bought a sprat for 30 kopecks, and inside there “red caviar, black caviar…”. One can be skeptical about these stories, but the fact remains: the investigation of the largest and most audacious corruption case in the Union began with a jar of ordinary sprat. It is not known how long the criminal scheme would have worked if, by a stupid accident, the sprat "stuffed" with black caviar had not hit the shelves

Still, by historical standards, recently people did not have a daily shower, no deodorant, or many other things important for hygiene. In fact, of course, man has always - like any healthy animal - tried to take care of his cleanliness. It was just that it was much more difficult to maintain her before
