2024 Author: Richard Flannagan | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-12-15 23:55
They lived together for more than 40 years and all this time they held hands, trying not to part for a minute. They met at a time when Irina Chagadaeva was only 16 years old, and Igor Moiseev had already celebrated his 35th birthday. But before the beginning of their great feeling, more than three decades had to pass. Many years later, Igor Moiseev will say that everything serious in his life began from the moment of his marriage to Irusha …
Fate and dance
She was only 16 when Irina Chagadaeva, a hereditary noblewoman, daughter of Prince Dmitry Chagadaev-Sakansky and a graduate of the Bolshoi Ballet School, was invited to join the folk dance ensemble led by Igor Moiseev. Surprisingly, Irina, who had always dreamed only of the Bolshoi Theater, just before the invitation, attended the ensemble's concert and was completely delighted. The invitation to this team inspired her, and her work may have saved her life during the war years.
Igor Moiseev immediately drew attention to the new girl: she was incredibly beautiful, and her huge eyes expressed the whole gamut of feelings experienced by the girl. But Igor Alexandrovich treated Irina, rather, in a fatherly way. When the war broke out, Irina was not included in the list of team members leaving for the evacuation.
On the day when the lists were announced, Irina was very upset, and then still managed to stain her only dress with strawberries. Igor Aleksandrovich saw the girl, and strictly asked her why she was not going on the road. Hearing that she was not on the lists, he waved his hand and ordered to get ready immediately: she was going with the ensemble.
It was a 19-month tour. Igor Moiseev found two compartment cars, the costumes were loaded there and the dancers were placed. The ensemble went to the rear to give five concerts a day for the workers of the military factories for a year and a half. Igor Moiseev strictly made sure that the daily routine was not disturbed, agreed on a bath in each city, and invariably fed 16-year-old girls and boys, believing that the growing body needs more.
Parallel lines
They met every day at rehearsals, went on tour, but everyone had their own life. When Irina met Geliy Konev, the son of the famous marshal, Igor Moiseev practically married her.
Marshal Konev categorically did not want to see a "ballet" in the family, but during the tour of the ensemble in Czechoslovakia he asked the director about Irina. Igor Alexandrovich gave the girl a brilliant characterization, after which Ivan Stepanovich gave the go-ahead for the marriage of his son. Irina got married, a daughter, Elena, was born in the family. But the life of the spouses was not at all like a fairy tale. Geliy Ivanovich loved a free life, did not deny himself the pleasure of spending time with friends over a glass of alcohol.
Irina Alekseevna never complained. She went on tour, raised her daughter and did not give anyone a single reason to doubt her own decency. Many years later, Marshal Konev thanked his daughter-in-law for bearing his name with dignity.
Igor Moiseev was also not free. His first wife was Nina Podgoretskaya, who, together with the choreographer, was directly involved in the creation of the legendary ensemble. Later, in the early 1940s, Igor Moiseev married Tamara Seifert, who danced in his ensemble and became the mother of his daughter Olga.
At the same time, Igor Alexandrovich never sought women, they themselves paid attention to him. But with Irina, everything was different. When Geliy Konev left the family, the head of the ensemble, apparently, decided to act. He called Irina, sometimes stopped by to visit her, but they did not recommend him to divorce his wife Tamara Seifert. They lived with Irina Alekseevna together for several years, but he often went on tour without her.
More than love
Moiseev wrote to her from different countries touching letters filled with love, tenderness and endless longing for his beloved woman. He wrote to her about what he had seen, but there were much more lines about how grateful he was to his Irusha, who made him cleaner and better. For her sake, he was ready for any accomplishments to devote them to Irina.
Igor Alexandrovich did not immediately decide on an official divorce, so as not to go into open conflict with the authorities. But in 1974, he still made his beloved a marriage proposal. Since then, correspondence between them has ceased. There was simply no need for her, because now they did not part, even for a while.
We went to and from work together, discussed new productions and made some decisions. And they just enjoyed the opportunity to hold the hand of a loved one. They did not know how to quarrel: Irina Alekseevna instantly felt her husband's mood and smoothed out all the rough edges. However, Igor Aleksandrovich was kind, gentle and caring with his family, unlike the demanding and strict Igor Moiseev in the rehearsal room.
He dedicated poems to her, gave her jewels and repeated tirelessly: she is perfection, his guardian angel. He was already 100 years old, but he still held her hand with the same touching trepidation and thanked fate for the happiness presented to him to love and be loved.
For three years, while Igor Aleksandrovich was very ill and was almost all the time undergoing treatment in the hospital, Irina Alekseevna was next to him. She came to his ward in the morning and left when the department was already locked. They went out into the street, she fed him and dressed him. When others called it a feat, she just looked at them in surprise. It was just love.
When Igor Moiseyev passed away in 2007, Irina Alekseevna's life lost all its colors. She kept everything in the house as it was with him. And on long, lonely evenings, I reread letters from my beloved, as if he had gone on tour and was about to return.
Another family duo was amazing. He graduated from an aviation technical school and an economic institute, created a unique Sevastopol dance theater, which has no analogues anywhere in the world. Dances were always present in the life of Vadim Elizarov, as Nina Marsheva was always present in her. True, then they still did not know: a series of almost mystical coincidences in their lives for a reason. It will take many years before their parallel straight lines intersect to become one line of life. And one dance for two.
